The Media and the Housing market

Recently I have been noticing that the real estate market has gotten much better from when I began over a year ago. Buyers and sellers are calling and the traffic in my open houses has gotten a lot heavier. But still the media is reporting that housing is still in a slump and homes are still sitting on the market and lacking the value they did years ago. I think, yes it is much slower than it has been in years. However it was so busy the past 5 years that it had really ever been. There was so much buiness that any random person could afford a home. Besides the fact the anyone could get their real estate license or become a loan officer and thrive. There were a plethera of Realtors and Loan officers that did not know what they were doing. Now there is a mess to clean up. The Realtors that once were doing well have now moved on from real estate. But I feel that the media is scaring people. They are using scare tactics. So many people watch the news and read the news paper and all the stories about the housing mess. This in turn scares people into not wanting to sellor buy a home. This is just my opinion I guess but please let me know what you think.
