Work/Life Conflicts

As you can see from my first blog yesterday, one of my biggest issues that I have in my career is my desire to be with my family. It has definitely been hard to go to work all day and then once I get home to work on my real estate business. There have been days that I have worked my day job for 9 hours and then immediately following I have shown homes to clients. Then once I come home and walk in the door, my son says “why did you have to work tonite”. That in its self just breaks my heart. But what do you do? How does someone be a real estate agent part time. Most agents that I know believe that you have to work full-time to make it. But is that really true? I remember when I was in class getting my license, one of the instructors was a very successful real estate agent. He was a full time teacher and part time realtor. He stated that everything came after his family. If someone wanted to see a house he would check what he had going on with his family first and then schedule his appointments. But how does he really do that? Most of the clients I have dealt with want what they want when they want it. So how to you get past that?
