Back in May, I began a new role in my work. It was very exciting, challenging and I couldn’t have been happier about my future.
Within one of the first weeks on the job, I got a call from a woman looking to obtain her real estate license. After speaking with her, I asked to meet her at a coffee shop to talk further.
When we met, she was very put together and everything she said suggested she would be a great real estate agent. This is where the plot thickens…
She, out of the blue, mentioned she had a criminal history. It was then, that she told me, that she was also an escort. Mind you, I had to sit there with a straight face and try to absorb what she just told me. I did however have to tell her that it would not be in the best interest of my broker to take her on. Even with her history and me being the big-hearted person that I am, felt bad for her. I could tell she really wanted to change her life. Nonetheless, I moved on.
Months later, I receive a random text. I was really confused…see below
I took me a while to realize who this person was. The name she had previously told me was different. I guess the tables have turned and she was trying to recruit me. I decided I should block her number and move on with my life. What’s a little scary is that when I looked her up on Facebook, there was an article on her Facebook page that I had written in 2012. This whole situation boggles me. She also has a movie and a very public criminal arrest. It’s scary. This is a moment where being in the public eye is hard. You are never safe.
